UK Were and Fur Meets

Southend Were and Fur Meet, 27-30 August 1999

Somewhere round about 9 Weres and Furs attended this meeting, organised by myself and held in my hometown of Southend-on-Sea, in the South of the UK.  The main aim of this meet was to provide an opportunity for my parents to find out and get to know the group of people that have become my friends over the previous year or so, and for this reason, the attendance numbers had to be restricted somewhat.  Needless to say the meet was a great success, from both the points of view of everyone having a good time and also from the effect it had on my parents.

The little thumbnails below all point to the full-sized pictures.  Sadly, no report of this meet has yet been written, so if you were there, you are more than welcome to submit something to me.

And Ruin demonstrates just how much a seriously nice fursuit can turn you into a lifesize plushie in the eyes of other Furs.  Here, Chik'ki, Solulo and Sci succumb to the temptation to scritch, while Lomax in the top left has some time out.

Chik'ki and Lomax go shopping at the campsite in a way that only Furs can...  Your guesses as to what was going through the shop's owner's mind as these two approached.

But she can't have thought they would hold the place to ransom, since this picture is by request of the owner as she poses with Chik'ki (Left) and Lomax (Right).
Those that are left after some departures engage in what seems to have become a common "meet thing" - the picnic in the local woods.
